News:
Sanctuary and Narthex Expansion
This first milestone expansion has allowed us to go from an overcrowded worship center to a comfortable, inviting environment that includes enough space for us to grow as we continue to extend God’s love to our community. Thanks to everyone who joined us as we humbly dedicated our building and ourselves to furthering the work of God’s kingdom. Beyond Us Kiosk
Our kiosk offers a central point for construction updates, plans, and ministry news surrounding the remaining year of our Beyond Us journey.
Financial Update
We have projected that we would collect 9.3 million dollars in the Beyond Us campaign, but after the economic downturn, we have collected almost 8 million dollars through August 2009. We do not want to have an additional downfall, so we are asking everyone to complete their commitment by November 2009. Some have contacted us to revise their commitment, but if we didn’t hear from you, we are assuming that you are still planning to finish your commitment.
Phase 2 Construction
This phase, which includes a road to Castleton and a children's building began in May 2008.
KidsWorld (Children’s Ministry) Addition
This project began June 2008. Exciting new features include worship spaces for our 3 and 4th graders and 5th and 6th graders. Both these rooms have prayer rooms incorporated into the space so we can teach our children the importance of prayer. Security has been planned along with new checkpoints for parents who are checking in children. The first floor addition will include specially designed space for 2 and 3-year olds. This will allow Pre-K and Kindergarten to expand on the upper floors the current children building. Additionally, we will have a new special needs room on the main floor to accommodate our special friends.
This project is 51% complete and we have a vision to ask the congregation to complete the building in phases. For more information on the six phases, please see the LifeBook, page 18.
New Road to East 86th St.
The road has been completed from our property to East 86th Street, next to Costco, and gives us visibility to thousands of people who work and shop in the Castleton area. This has become a major asset in God’s kingdom so He can further His purposes.
Additional campus signage will be added, as well as a sign leading from East 86th Street.
